Guitars - Lado Rocker 902 Custom - 2010

This is the last Rocker with this style headstock.  I picked it up in person 11/5/2010.  You won't find Quilted Sapele anymore ... let alone one with this much quilt!  The beauty of these instruments are simply breathtaking.  Realizing that Joe makes each one, by hand, is a show of pure craftsmanship and artwork.  They are that good.

A tidbit for those who don't know what Sapele is ... it's really African Mahogany.  This wood is plentiful in its regular form.  Curly (flamed) is pretty rare, but quilted is beyond rare.  Near impossible to find.  Joe has had these pieces since 1973 and finally decided to build a few guitars with it.  He only has enough to make 10.  I own 2.  he claims he has never seen quilted Sapele since he purchased this batch of wood.
